My Background:
My name is Zander Levy. I have lived in Utah for almost a decade and grew up in Park City. Growing up there I was exposed to a ton of art. I have always loved the arts, however, I really found my passion after taking a technical theater class in the ninth grade, I fell in love with the community and everything that comes with it. The feeling you get after putting on a great show is indescribable.
My first show was working on deck crew for the PCHS production of Mamma Mia in November of 2019. After that experience I was completely hooked. I started signing up for show after show and am thankful for everything I learned and gained from those experiences.
From there, I decided to expand outside of school performances and started working for the Park City Institute in 2020. From there, I started freelancing and even started my own production company called Salt Sounds. We've produced many events such as concerts, dance shows and recitals, music festivals, school dances, and more through my company.
Current Work:
I currently work for the Park City Institute as their lighting designer and master electrician. I am also work part-time with the Noorda Center for the Performing Arts at Utah Valley University. I work as a lighting designer and stagehand for them. I do a decent amount of freelance work in the Salt Lake area as well as Utah County. I have worked with various performing artists such as Utah's Repertory Dance Theater, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Wasatch Theater Company, Utah Dance Institute, Junction Dance Co, BalletNEXT and more.
Future Plans:
I plan to attend Utah Valley University in the fall of 2023. While there I will study lighting design and obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. I will continue to freelance and grow my business while in school.
